Job summary

Baker Charles is seeking a Financial Accountant in Central London with hybrid working (4 days in the office). The role offers up to £65,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits on a 12‑month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend or go permanent for a strong performer.

You will handle day-to-day financial accounting and JV reporting, manage cash, assist with budgeting/forecasting, and liaise with auditors and senior stakeholders across Tax, Treasury and finance teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or equivalent with audit/statutory accounts experience.
• Experience in reporting for a joint venture and technical accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

A leading FTSE-listed business is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential for the role to be extended or become permanent for a strong performer.

This is a broad financial accounting role within a high-calibre Financial Reporting team, with responsibility for the reporting and finance activities of a significant joint venture.

The role combines management and statutory reporting, technical accounting, forecasting, cash management and analysis, with considerable exposure to senior stakeholders across the business and external JV partners.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for day-to-day financial accounting and reporting for a joint venture.
• Preparing management accounts and analysing performance against budget and forecast.
• Managing cash balances, funding requirements and cash flow reporting.
• Preparing technical accounting papers for transactions within the JV.
• Preparing statutory accounts and associated disclosures.
• Supporting annual budgeting and forecasting.
• Working closely with Tax, Treasury and other finance teams on transactions and restructures.
• Liaising with external auditors and JV partners.
• Providing financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent), ideally trained within a leading accounting firm, with strong technical accounting skills and experience of audit and/or statutory accounts. You will be commercially aware, highly analytical and comfortable taking ownership of your work while managing relationships with a range of senior stakeholders.
