An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a highly respected financial services organisation in London. This role sits within the financial reporting team, which is at the heart of delivering complex and high-quality statutory and regulatory reports. As a senior member of the team, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the group's consolidated accounts meet all external requirements.
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of critical elements of the group's statutory financial reporting processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and review annual statutory accounts for the group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Oversee the preparation and review of key disclosure notes, particularly those related to financial instruments, maintaining high standards of clarity and detail.
- Act as a primary contact for external auditors, managing the audit process from start to finish and addressing queries promptly.
- Collaborate closely with Investor Relations, Risk, and other finance teams to ensure alignment across all reporting activities.
- Deliver periodic reports tailored to the needs of internal stakeholders and external regulators, adapting content as required.
- Assist in preparing detailed balance sheet analyses to support quarterly regulatory returns, including investigating variances and documenting findings comprehensively.
- Develop and deliver technical training sessions aimed at improving data quality and classification for financial statement disclosures.
- Participate actively in projects focused on implementing new accounting standards, enhancing automation in financial statement production, and upgrading ledger systems.
- Review monthly general ledger entries to ensure integrity, challenging discrepancies where necessary to maintain robust controls.
- Respond efficiently to ad hoc requests from management or regulators, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
