Location:
Fully Remote, UK

Our Team:

Join a collaborative and forward-thinking finance team that plays a pivotal role in driving Semtech's global success. We manage the financial operations that underpin innovation-from statutory compliance to strategic insights that guide decision-making.

You'll work with finance professionals across the UK, US, Malaysia, and Switzerland, contributing to international projects and building deep, cross-cultural expertise. With a focus on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we empower each other to deliver excellence across every aspect of financial management.

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on role for an experienced accountant who thrives on responsibility, precision, and working across borders. As a Senior Accountant, you'll manage the full financial operations for three UK legal entities-overseeing everything from monthly closes and statutory reporting to payroll processing and audit readiness. You'll play a key role in upholding financial compliance, maintaining accurate records, and improving operational efficiency.

This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role. We are looking to make a fast appointment, so candidates must be immediately available or able to start within a maximum of two weeks. If you're ready to hit the ground running and contribute to a global finance function from day one, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly close process, preparing journals, analysing transactions, and ensuring financial accuracy.
  • Review and approve transactional data posted by Treasury and AP/AR teams.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory accounts and annual reports.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring all materials are complete and compliant.
  • Oversee monthly payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax reports in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts and investigate variances.
  • Support federal and state tax filings in collaboration with international finance partners.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance financial reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW or CPA qualified.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a full set of company accounts.
  • Proficient in end-to-end payroll processing and tax compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work with remote and international teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
  • Initial 12-month fixed-term contract with opportunity for extension or permanent appointment.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
  • Candidates must be immediately available or able to start within two weeks of offer acceptance. This is a priority hire, and we are seeking someone who can quickly integrate and make an impact.
