Job summary

Royal London, Alderley Park, seeks a Senior Finance Systems Accountant to own the AutoRek reconciliation tool, drive automation, and govern data integrity within Group Finance. You will lead continuous improvements and collaborate with stakeholders across finance and technology in a hybrid 50% home/office setup.

The role requires a qualified accountant with hands-on SQL/database experience, expertise in reconciliation software, and strong communication with senior management.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong background in reconciliations and controls environments.
• Experience managing reconciliation software, preferably AutoRek.
• Hands-on SQL and database management.
• Ability to engage business and technical stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and data visualization.
• Experience with change control processes and SDLC (Waterfall/Agile).
• Experience implementing AI solutions would be a plus.
• Positive, collaborative, team-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end management of the Group Finance AutoRek Reconciliation tool and ensure regulatory and internal reporting readiness.
• Define and implement Group Finance strategy for AutoRek adoption and automated data delivery.
• Lead strategic implementations, process improvements and system optimisation.
• Establish governance to ensure system and data integrity.
• Oversee day-to-day user enquiries and drive improvements.
• Report to senior management on tool performance and delivery of continuous improvement.

Job Title: Senior Finance Systems Accountant

Contract Type: Permanent

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

This is a high-impact opportunity within Group Finance’s Finance Systems team at Alderley Park. You willmanageand evolve theGroup Finance Reconciliation and Cash Matchingsuite of products,helping tostreamline end-to-end finance system processes across accounting, transactional and bankingprocesses, drivingautomation to ensure a smooth flow of data through our architecture.You’llprovide first-line support to users, contribute to projects across Royal London, and help us meet regulatory and internal reporting needs.

About the role

End-to-end ownership and management of the Group FinanceAutoRekReconciliation tool, ensuring itremainsfit for all regulatory and internal reporting.

Support with the definition and implementation of Group Finance strategy for Royal London’sAutorekapplicationand wider adoption of automated processesand data delivery.

Lead on strategic implementation, continuous processimprovementsand system optimisation.

Support the definition and implementation ofan appropriate governanceframework to ensure system and dataintegrity.

Lead continuous process improvements and system optimisation to enhance controls,effectivenessand efficiency across Group Finance.

Manage the range of day-to-day user enquiries, supporting the resolution andidentifyingwhere improvements can be made.

Be the lead point of contact to the Finance Systems and Operations teams’ senior management in regular reporting on the performance of the Reconciliation tool, and proposing,agreeingand updating on the delivery of the continuous improvement strategy.

About you

A qualified accountant with strong background within reconciliations and controls environments and the governance requirements around those processes.

Strong experiencemanagingReconciliation software with a preference beingAutoRek.

Hands-on experience in SQL and Database Management.

Clear communicator able to engage business and technical stakeholders, and senior management; experience in business-facing roles and translating requirements into technical solutions.

Experience of MicrosoftPower Apps, with strong data visualisation skills.

Experience with change control processes and SDLC (Waterfall/Agile); mindset of continuous improvement with strong problem-solving skills.

Experience of implementing AI solutions would be a plus.
