Senior Finance Officer
Location: Rochdale, OL16
Salary: 18.26 per hour, paid weekly - every Friday!
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Officer to join a dynamic public sector finance team. This role is integral to the delivery of statutory and business-critical financial functions, including budget setting, monitoring, closure of accounts, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting effective decision-making and ensuring robust financial systems and controls are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Lead on financial processes including budget preparation, monitoring, and year-end accounts.
  • Provide financial advice and support to service areas, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Manage and develop staff within the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to corporate initiatives and projects from a financial perspective.
  • Ensure financial systems are secure, efficient, and effectively utilised.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, funding bodies, and partner organisations.
  • Support the implementation of automation and streamlined processes to enhance service delivery.

Desirable:
