Senior Finance Manager (FP&A) - Operations

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance function for our Customer & Network Operations teams. This high-profile role is pivotal in strengthening performance, optimising costs, and shaping business priorities across key functions, including Disruption Management, Customer Contact Centre, Network Control, Navigation, Safety, Security & Compliance. With an annual spend of £835m, this role demands a combination of financial expertise, commercial acumen, and strong leadership to drive efficiency and deliver sustainable results.

Responsibilities
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning; build robust and efficient financial processes.
  • Provide incisive analysis that drives strategic decisions; craft and monitor KPIs to identify risks and opportunities; recommend decisive action.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align operational performance with the low-cost model; deliver scenario analyses and sound financial advice.
  • Champion financial discipline and governance in all business decisions.
  • Lead the finance workstream for the Airline Ops Tech Strategy (AOTS); shape the future of Customer & Network Centres and disruption management through technology.
  • Develop and embed systems to boost efficiency and effectiveness; ensure investments deliver strong returns and long-term financial stability.
  • Report to the Head of Operational Finance; manage a team of two and support their development.
  • Collaborate across finance and operations to deliver measurable impact and continuous improvement.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • 7–10 years PQE with robust experience in FP&A, business partnering, and leadership.
  • Energetic self-starter who uses facts and data to support suggestions.
  • Ability to influence business decisions with insight and analysis.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis in complex settings.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; confident to influence and challenge senior leaders.
  • Commercially astute with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Executive board-ready content creation, particularly PowerPoint presentations.
  • Proficient in data storytelling; articulate the "so what", present options, and make actionable, data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience driving change through technology; design, implement, and embed solutions that transform operations.
  • Collaborative, adaptable leader who thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
