It provides industry leading wholesale market services to the energy group's supply and generation business units and to third party energy asset owners. The team operates in a broad and diverse range of market segments including residential & business supply, nuclear, renewable & thermal generation and storage & flexible energy.

Job Description

  • Play a pivotal role in driving financial performance by partnering closely with the Wholesale Market Services business unit to maximise Gross Margin and manage Operating Expenditure.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, delivering expert analysis, insightful reporting, and robust financial challenge to support strategic decision-making and sustainable EBITDA growth.
  • Own the accuracy of monthly forecasts, actuals, and balance sheet transactions for Gross Margin and Opex, while championing a culture of continuous improvement-leveraging technologies like Robotics and AI to boost efficiency.
  • Lead the development of the annual four-year medium-term plan, build strong relationships with senior leaders, and act as a trusted advisor to the WMS Director and Senior Leadership Team. Operating with autonomy, you'll influence and challenge at a senior level, playing a key role in shaping the strategy and success of the Wholesale Market Services Finance team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience of leading a high performing Finance Business Partnering team.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the financial impact relating to complex industry changes.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • Strong exposure to the power generation/energy industry
