About Our Client

The client is a 5* hotel (approximately 200 rooms) in Central London that requires a Senior Finance Manager to manage a team of 4. The successful candidate will have a Senior Management Accountant working with them on the monthly close, overseeing the rest of the finance team (1x AP, 1x AR, and a Cost Controller). The role is fully based in the hotel office and requires approximately 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing all finance and accounting operations for the hotel
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements, and presenting management accounts/reports to the senior leadership team - CFO and General Manager
  • Managing the month-end and year-end close process, including full production and review of management and statutory accounts
  • Leading a team of up to 4 people
  • Liaising with auditors and managing the audit process
  • Reviewing previous years' financials and cash flows to understand reported figures
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Coordinating regulatory reporting
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Improving processes and systems to ensure smooth finance operations
  • Providing ad hoc reports as needed

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
  • Have prior experience as a Finance Manager within a luxury hotel
  • Have experience managing a team
  • Have strong Excel skills
  • Sun Systems experience is a plus but not essential
  • Possess excellent analytical skills
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
