Job description

  • Based in South West London (South Kensington)

About Our Client

The client is a 5* hotel based in Central London (approximately 200 rooms) that requires a Senior Finance Manager to manage a team of 4. The successful candidate will have a Senior MA working with them on the monthly close, whilst also overseeing the rest of the finance team (1x AP, 1x AR, and a Cost Controller). The role is fully based in the office (in the hotel) and requires a candidate with approximately 2-3 years in a similar role.

Job Description

The successful Senior Finance Manager will:

  • Manage all finance and accounting operations for the hotel
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, and present management accounts/reports to the senior leadership team - CFO and General Manager
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process - full production and review of the monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts
  • Manage a team of up to 4 people
  • Liaise with the auditors and manage the audit process
  • Investigate and review previous years' financials and cash flows to understand reported figures
  • Conduct budgeting and forecasting
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Improve processes and systems in the business to ensure the smooth running of the finance team
  • Perform ad hoc reporting

The Successful Applicant

The successful Financial Controller will:

  • Be a fully qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
  • Have prior experience working as a Finance Manager within a luxury hotel company
  • Have previous experience managing a team (flexible on size)
  • Possess strong Excel skills
  • Have SUN Systems experience (ideal, but not essential)
  • Exhibit great analytical skills
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
