Job description

Prospectus is delighted to be working with an accountancy firm that supports charities and mission-led organisations to recruit for their new Senior Finance Manager. The accountancy firm provides fully scalable finance and operations teams to organisations in the not-for-profit sector, freeing up their clients’ time and enabling them to do what they do best and make life-changing impact.


This role is a permanent full-time position. The postholder will be based at the accountancy firm’s South Derbyshire office. The salary banding is £40,000-£45,000 + a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.


Responsibilities:
  1. Take charge of the provision of routine management accounts and cash flow forecasts.
  2. Build budgets and longer-term financial planning.
  3. Produce year-end accounts and manage relationships with stakeholders.
  4. Support with funding proposals and donor reporting.
  5. Ensure that the day-to-day financial accounting activity of each charity is undertaken efficiently and effectively.
  6. Review and improve systems, procedures, and policies.
  7. Present financial updates to the Executive Teams and Board, providing strategic advice.

Qualifications:
  1. Relevant finance knowledge, either by qualification or experience.
  2. Experience of producing management accounts and external reporting.
  3. Experience using SME accounting software/systems and Microsoft Excel.
  4. Strong relationship-building abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own time and workload.

Desirably, you will have experience working in the charity sector.
