Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Data Analyst who will work closely with the CFO and COO to provide key financial and commercial analysis to support strategic decision-making, financial planning and reporting to stakeholders. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams on strategic projects with a focus on revenue and pricing. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an ability to analyse commercial as well as financial data and have experience of working alongside a senior management team.

The Senior Finance Data Analyst will report into the CFO however their work will be equally split between supporting both the COO and CFO on a variety of projects which will focus on identifying opportunities for growth as well as better understanding the business’ revenues.

This role will be hybrid between our Reading and London offices.

Data Collection & Analysis:

• Collect and process financial data from various sources (internal and external).
• Analyse historical data, trends, and patterns to provide actionable insights for management.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across various systems.
• Monitor and evaluate financial performance against industry benchmarks and business targets
• Support month end reporting with preparation of revenue analysis (e.g. by client, service line).
• Design and automate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for use by senior management and the Board.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support:

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, with focus on revenue.
• Analyse variances between actual and forecasted revenues and new business, providing explanations and recommendations.
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts and financial plans, to include the development of revenue by client forecasting for the 2026 budget.
• Build and maintain financial models to support business decisions, pricing strategies and investment analysis.
• Conduct pricing analysis, profitability analysis by client, and scenario analysis to support the client/business development team with pricing decisions.
• An awareness of “selling time” in professional services is preferred to ensure familiarity with key metrics of utilisation and recoverability.
• Collaborate with CFO and COO to understand business requirements and provide analytical support.
• Present findings and insights to senior management in a clear and actionable format.
• Collaborate with the technology development team to ensure Power BI reporting is completed and accurate, as well as developing new reports to meet the changing requirements of the business.

Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement improvements to financial data processes and reporting tools, including the use of AI.
• Work on enhancing the automation and efficiency of revenue reporting, pricing models and forecasting.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications and experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post qualified experience.
• Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) as a Finance Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
• Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Prior experience of working within professional services industry is key to this role.

Technical skills:

• Proficiency in Excel (advanced level), including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
• Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and financial modelling tools.
• Experience with finance systems (e.g. Oracle – NetSuite) and time recording software is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large datasets.
• Ability to draw actionable insights from complex financial data.

Communication skills and personal qualities:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience of working closely with CFO/COOs.
• Ability to present data and analysis to non-financial stakeholders.
• Able to work independently, prioritising & managing multiple tasks with different stakeholders to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Good team player who is keen to work collaboratively and find solutions.
• Enthusiastic, positive and flexible approach to work.
