Job Description

This role aligns into NEXT’s Marketing Finance team who are based in our brand new offices in Alfred Place, W1 London. You’ll be business-partnering with the specialist teams who manage the company’s fashion photography and PR functions. The Finance team supports these creative operations with accurate budgeting, forecasting and by arranging payments to the artists involved. You’ll be joining a team of five Management Accountants in a highly supportive working environment. The role is offered on a full-time basis with the option to work from home a few days per week (after initial training period has been completed). This role would suit a part-qualified or newly qualified Management Accountant who is looking for a first step into a junior management position.

The role in a nutshell

You will collaborate with employees & 3rd Parties, to help run the financial operations of the department, communicate cost performance with management and take part in planning the future financial needs of the company’s creative operations. You are comfortable with multitasking and working in a demanding and ever changing business environment. You must be able to manage ambiguity and be comfortable reacting to client demands that can change at short notice; matching the fashion markets that we serve.

The responsibilities

  • Tracking and reporting on seasonal spend for Image Creation
  • Presenting spend performance to the Senior Management Team
  • ‘Value for Money’ analysis and ad-hoc project support for the Snr. Finance Manager
  • Business Affairs (Insurance, Tax and Finance Transformation)
  • Approvals of supplier onboarding applications and invoice payments
  • Manage a team of 3 direct reports
  • Liaison across a range of internal clients and brand partners to plan seasonal creative expenditure

About you

  • You’ll be a results focused individual with direct experience of forecasting, budgeting, tracking and reporting in a similar environment
  • Analytical ability as you’ll be dealing with a range of data from across the business
  • Good communication skills and highly numerate
  • Great attention to detail
  • People management experience
  • Presentation skills and comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Experienced in working (and sometimes leading) across virtual teams to deliver business results
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
