Job description

What you do

This role reports to the Head of Planning & Controlling of the Health LoB and is responsible for business partnering with the sales, underwriting, actuarial teams, and functional leaders to support the P&L planning, reporting, and analysis for portfolios within the Health LoB.

  • Business partner with sales, underwriting, and actuarial teams; be the main point of contact within the P&C team for analysis of topline and results.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders to understand and manage their FTEs and cost base.
  • Provide finance support to strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the 3-year financial plan by liaising with relevant business areas, reviewing, and challenging assumptions.
  • Coordinate and consolidate the annual plan with the Health Planning & Controlling team.
  • Produce accurate P&L forecasts, analyze monthly results, deviations, and liaise with the business on expected outcomes.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, working with the team to mitigate or capitalize on them.
  • Assist in month-end P&L analysis to understand performance and variances.
  • Deliver clear analysis and commentary on P&L performance for reports to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Propose improvements to P&L reporting and analysis, leading their implementation.
  • Support training and coaching of finance analysts within the team.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or related fields (e.g., applied mathematics).
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • At least 7 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or business partnering within an international insurer.
  • Strong IT skills, proficiency in MS Office, Excel, databases, and statistical programs.
  • Experience in finance business partnering with sales, underwriting, and operational departments.
  • Experience presenting to senior management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; effective collaboration across departments.
  • Self-motivated, with ownership of tasks and results-oriented.
  • Analytical, meticulous, with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
