About the team
Our Finance Department works as a team of experts to safeguard resources and support decision making across Shelter. We strive to ensure Shelter is financially sustainable to achieve our vision of a home for everyone. This role is within the Financial Planning and Analysis team, supporting the charity through financial reporting, analysis, and expert advice, enabling collaboration to support managers in making effective business decisions.
About the role
Joining a finance team that collaborates and communicates effectively to help us deliver our mission and vision, making vital business decisions driven by expert knowledge and financial acumen, will be key. Your challenges will include aligning financial plans with operational and strategic plans, ensuring clarity for Business Units, and providing effective, two-way communication channels with Finance. Delivering regular, relevant financial insights and analysis will also be part of your role.
About you
As well as being suitably qualified, you’ll need experience working effectively with non-finance stakeholders, adapting your communication style accordingly. Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and reprioritize tasks are essential. Strong analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, high numeracy, and intermediate Excel skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Word.
