Job summary

Benjamin Edwards in Lincoln is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to provide financial leadership, commercial insight and challenge to support strategic and operational goals. You will partner with Business Unit leaders across diverse operations, translating data into actionable insights to drive performance and long-term value.

The role offers visibility across the organisation, with opportunities to influence budgeting, forecasting and decision-making, while building robust management

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with commercial/operational finance experience.
• Experience partnering with business units and senior stakeholders.
• Strong financial modelling and budgeting experience.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted financial advisor to Business Unit leaders, providing high-quality analysis, insight and constructive challenge.
• Building strong relationships across the organisation and embedding a commercially focused, performance-driven culture.
• Supporting stakeholders in understanding drivers behind revenue, costs, margins and cash performance.
• Supporting the budgeting process, medium-term planning and ongoing forecasting.
• Translating business objectives into clear financial plans, KPIs and targets.
• Preparing and reviewing financial models and business cases for decision-making.
• Evaluating capital investment proposals and strategic initiatives.
• Challenging legacy reporting and improving financial controls.

The role of Senior Finance Business Partner

• Acting as a trusted financial advisor to Business Unit leaders, providing high-quality analysis, insight and constructive challenge

• Supporting stakeholders in understanding the key drivers behindrevenue, costs, margins and cash performance
• Supporting the annual budgeting process, medium-term financial planning and ongoing forecasting
• Translating business objectives into clear financial plans, KPIs and measurable performance targets
• Analysing Business Unit performance to identifytrends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
• Preparing financial information and analysis for monthly business performance reviews
• Providing clear commentary around financial variances, performance drivers and root causes
• Reviewing unit economics, operational efficiency and cost structures to identify opportunities to improve performance
• Preparing and reviewingfinancial models and business casesto support commercial and operational decision-making
• Evaluating capital investment proposals, commercial opportunities and strategic initiatives
• Carrying outscenario modelling and sensitivity analysisto support informed decision-making
• Supporting the development and improvement of management reporting, dashboards and performance packs
• Ensuring financial information and KPIs are accurate, relevant and aligned with the needs of the business
• Challenging legacy reporting and helping move the organisation towards moreforward-looking, insight-led analysis
• Presenting financial information clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues
• Working collaboratively with FP&A, Controlling, Business Unit leaders and the wider finance team
• Supporting non-finance stakeholders with budget management and improving financial understanding and accountability
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, automate reporting and strengthen financial controls
• Supporting improvements to ERP systems, financial tools and data flows
• Championing consistency, data quality and best practice across the finance function
