Job description

Senior Finance Business Partner

Our client is looking for a commercially driven Senior Finance Business Partner to help shape financial strategy, improve business performance and support key decision-making across a growing, operationally focused AV event production company.

Working closely with the Finance Director, CEO and senior management team, you'll turn financial data into meaningful insight, helping the business understand performance, improve margins and identify opportunities for sustainable growth.

The Role

This is a hands-on position combining financial planning and analysis with commercial business partnering. You'll take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting while working alongside operational and commercial teams to understand the story behind the numbers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling activities.
  • Analysing financial performance, identifying trends and explaining variances against plan.
  • Providing clear, actionable management information to senior stakeholders.
  • Evaluating profitability across projects, customers and business areas, with a focus on revenue, gross margin and EBITDA.
  • Partnering with operational and commercial managers to improve cost control, pricing and financial accountability.
  • Identifying risks, efficiencies and opportunities to strengthen business performance.
  • Enhancing reporting processes, dashboards and financial models to improve accuracy and reduce manual work.
  • Supporting month-end reporting and wider finance improvement initiatives.
About You

You'll be an experienced finance professional with a strong background in FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance. You'll combine sound financial knowledge with the confidence to challenge assumptions, influence decisions and build effective relationships across the business. You will have experience and exposure to working in a similar role in the same industry - AV technical events.

You'll ideally bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A strong track record in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • A solid understanding of P&L performance, cost drivers, gross margin and EBITDA.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, analytical and commercially focused mindset.

Experience in a project-led, production, events, AV or similar operational environment is essential.

Familiarity with Power BI and reporting automation would also be beneficial.
