Senior finance business partner opportunity to be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh

Your new company

Our client, a future focussed utilities business, has an exciting job opportunity for a commercially astute qualified senior finance professional to join them as Senior Finance Business Partner.

Your new role
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will:

  1. Collaborate with and support the Scotland Operations Regional management, to provide financial insights, analysis, and support for decision-making, strategic planning, and performance improvement. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  2. Be the first port of call for the regional management for Operations division, for all things related to finance.
  3. Act as a trusted and accessible point of contact providing commercial and financial decision support, proactively challenging costs by understanding cost drivers and providing insight into functional costs and strategic initiatives, enabling the most cost-effective and efficient operation.
  4. Provide financial leadership during the periodic forecasting and budgeting process ensuring the business can meet its targets in an optimal way, as well as during business meetings and periodic reviews.
  5. Advise senior managers on actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
What you'll need to succeed

You will be a results-oriented team player with superior commercial acumen and will be professionally qualified with CA/ ICAS / ACCA or ACMA and possess a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience working in a similar role. Additionally, you will be:
  • Highly collaborative, yet suitably challenging.
  • Capable of delivering in a high-demand environment.
  • Able to deal with large volumes of data.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to 'tell the story' in a concise and effective manner, adapted for the audience.
  • Capable of efficiently managing changing deadlines and quick turnarounds.
