This is a senior role for a qualified Accountant to provide professional financial advice and produce robust and effective financial analysis and intelligence, identifying key headline messages. The post will support delivery of the department's objectives, specifically the development of sustainable value and benefits realisation metrics along with better integration of financial and performance reporting.
The role will also be instrumental in supporting the department's transformation work as detailed in the HEIW Finance Strategy that will enable the function to adapt to technological change whilst continuing to provide high quality and accurate information for internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will be a key member of the Finance team and will lead a range of strategic finance programmes and projects, researching, developing and adopting best practice and innovative strategies designed to deliver programme and project objectives.
This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months due to the needs of service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2025/26 is confirmed.
