Job summary

Public Health Wales is seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join the Financial Management Support function. You will prepare monthly Financial Management reports, including variance and trend analysis and forecasting to support budget holders and Finance Partners.

The role supports the Finance Manager and contributes to the financial monitoring of the Capital Programme, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication across Directorates/Divisions.

Qualifications

• Ideally working towards or AAT qualified with experience in an accounting environment.
• NHS experience would be advantageous.
• IT literate, flexible, able to work to defined deadlines and an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide accurate monthly Financial Management reports in accordance with the reporting timetable.
• Variance analysis, trend analysis and forecasting to support budget holders and Finance Partners.
• Support the Finance Manager – Financial Management and Capital Support in improving the Financial Management Support Team.
• Assist with financial monitoring of the Capital Programme approved by Public Health Wales.
• Provide financial support and information to Directorates/Divisions to ensure timely and robust information.
• Support the financial management process with Directorates/Divisions to deliver targets.
• Assist in maintaining the Capital Fixed Asset Register.
