Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Senior Finance Assistant - Debt Recovery, on a 10-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.69 - £17.72 per Hour

Summary:

This post is in respect of Debt Recovery within the Accounts Receivable teamand primarily consists of following a variety of core debt recovery processes inorder to provide efficient debt recovery.The post holder will provide a reliable, efficient and effective service of a high level administrative nature.

Responsibilities:

• Provides specialist financial support to the team, with a good understanding ofthe service specialism, objectives and requirements.
• Organises own workload,planning work over a period of months in co-ordination with others to meetservice objectives and deliver a customer focused service.
• Analyses and interprets complex technical financial information relating to theteam specialism and draws conclusions in order to action tasks appropriately
• Produces performance information data, financial statistics and other
  management information, manipulating and analysing manual and computeriseddata as necessary, both directly for clients and in support of managers to feedinto reports.
  
• Updates and maintains relevant computerised and manual records relating to theservice appropriately and accurately.

Qualifications:

• 4 GCSEs grades A-C, including maths and English, or equivalent qualificationor experience demonstrating that level of numeracy and literacy.
• Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) part-qualified at intermediatelevel NVQ 3 or studying towards an equivalent qualification or demonstrabletechnical and theoretical knowledge related to accountancy at this level.

Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
• A good understanding of office systems and practices related to finance,usually demonstrated by relevant experience working in a financialenvironment.
• Experience providing specialist advice to managers or customers. Includingexplaining complex financial information or other similar technicalinformation.
