As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Senior Finance Assistant to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Management Accountants, this role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our Finance team. This includes posting journals, preparing and reviewing financial performance, and having an input on key commercial decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting of the full finance function to include Revenue, AR, AP & Expenditure
  • Supporting and review of all P&L, Balance sheet codes
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payments
  • Assist with Preparing month end P&L, Balance Sheet and reporting pack, and explaining variances against budget
  • Assist with Fixed Assets and depreciation
  • Support with various projects within the department to help streamline
  • Finance business partnering with key teams throughout the wider business
  • Review and challenge of monthly accruals for the wider business
  • Preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly regulatory returns (VAT, ONS, Intrastat)
  • Assisting with year end audit
  • Other tasks as required

Person Specification:

This is a demanding role in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in a commercial organisation
  • Experience preparing management accounts with commentary
  • Strong Excel skills, with experience of financial modelling (desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • The confidence to challenge existing practices and seek improvements
