Senior Finance Assistant - London (SC Cleared)

Contract Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months
Working Pattern: Full-time, 7.6 hours/day, 5 days/week (on-site)
Security Clearance: Active SC or DV clearance (or eligibility to obtain)

About the Role:

We are partnering with a high-profile public sector client to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant with active Security Clearance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful government projects while applying your financial expertise in a secure and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support budgeting processes and conduct financial analysis and reviews.
  • Assist in budget preparation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain historical data and documentation to support budget development.
  • Manage travel and hospitality requests, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain financial records in line with IPSAS and risk management standards.
  • Compile data for regular and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Contribute to annual financial statements and reporting.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses and review financial requests.
  • Authorize payments and support fiscal operations.
  • Monitor budget execution and expenditure tracking.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly fund status reports and analysis.
  • Support Finance Committee briefings and other internal reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in finance roles within the public sector or large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of government financial processes and reporting standards.
  • Active SC or DV clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
