Job summary

Positive Employment is recruiting a Finance Analyst for a local government organisation based in Wembley, London. The role supports the Income and Debt Improvement Programme on a six-month fixed-term basis, with hybrid working (3 days in the office).

You will analyse debt portfolios, production of MI, and provide insight-led recommendations to improve income collection, reduce debt, and enhance decision-making across services. Strong CCAB accounting and governance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CCAB Qualified Accountant.
• Experience with local government systems (NEC, Mosaic, Abacus, Oracle Financials) advantageous.
• Ability to analyse and report on large volumes of financial data and complex processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service.
• Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery.
• Be the senior professional financial advisor for a major budget area.
• Carry out unit costing exercises and value for money reviews.
• Lead statutory financial reporting and prepare committee reports.
