In this role, you will report to the Senior Finance Manager, with the role based in Milton Keynes alongside the bp pulse UK business.

Role Synopsis

As Senior Finance Analyst you will be encouraged to drive performance management, a culture of control and compliance, provide actionable insights to inform business decision-making, all in support of bp pulse's investment in EV charging in the UK.

You will collaborate with Real Estate, Execution, Project Controls and the Network Program Director, providing independent thought partnership and finance/commercial expertise in support of ensuring investment pipeline is focused on value, standardization, ratability and investment/capital efficiency.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Continuously seek to improve and standardise the business and lead monthly performance management reporting and content delivery, including providing challenge on investment pipeline quality and site attrition, AUC aging, standard archetype/agreement deployment and hardware optimization / inventory draw down.
  • Translate business strategy into business plans that focus on activities and financial outcomes. This includes input, review and independent challenge into economic evaluations and investment governance documents, ensuring that they fairly reflect the business argument, are quantitatively robust and are aligned with bp's Economic Evaluation Methodology (EEM) and Group Investment Assurance and Approvals Process (GIAAP).
  • Use insight and data to drive strategic improvements, create and bring together value - all underpinned in a tightly controlled framework.
  • Forecasting and driving optimization and performance management of total cash costs incurred supportive of investment pipeline
  • Proactive engagement with M&C UK Finance to support alignment on joint investment pipeline
  • Available to work on other projects as they arise
Required Job Functional Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Business expertise - the successful candidate should have experience supporting capital investment projects, and with bp's EEM / GIAAP / CVP processes
  • Strong influencing, networking and relationship building skills to work across a variety of partners to drive value led outcomes
  • Experience of quickly grasping new situations/business/activity
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial mentality, with the skills to assess business/financial risks and identify mitigations
  • Proficiency in inspiring change through performance management and insight
  • Aptitude to deliver process improvement that embraces the opportunity to add new value
  • Leadership - ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams to deliver superior informative analysis
  • Problem solving - ability to balance multiple/conflicting priorities with a history of successful delivery
  • Analytical skills - ability to understand data quickly and draw out key messages and insights while maintaining attention to detail
  • Can influence project and investment direction based on their understanding of finance, economic analysis and strategic/business frame
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to efficiently interact with a wide range of technical and finance collaborators
    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, simplify complex issues and prioritize.
  • Experience with customer facing business, in particular bp pulse or M&C, and new project start-ups, working with Execution / Projects functions is preferred
Minimum Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics or similar
