Job summary

A leading company in the finance sector is seeking a Senior Finance Accountant. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly accounts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Candidates must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant management interaction experience, preferably from an insurance or broking background.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in both practice and industry.
  • Familiarity with CASS (Client Money) rulebook is highly desirable.

Job description

Job Title: Senior Finance Accountant

Location:

Assistant Director, F&TP

Contacts:

All Staff (Globally), Auditors, Third Party Providers

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and review fixed assets registers.
  2. Maintain nominal ledger and supporting spreadsheets.
  3. Update FX rates and perform bank reconciliations on Cash Manager.
  4. Review Bought Ledger and Cashbook reports.
  5. Produce client money reconciliations.
  6. Prepare monthly management accounts.
  7. Produce the Bii (monthly Income Report).
  8. Assist in calculating corporate tax.
  9. Prepare VAT returns.
  10. Complete regulatory returns for subsidiary companies (e.g., FCA’s RMAR, Resilience report).
  11. Assist CFO and AD in reviewing internal controls related to finance.
  12. Support in preparing year-end financial statements and interim profit verification.
  13. Prepare the Group’s annual budget.
  14. Generate annual 1099 forms for US entity payments.
  15. Propose FX trading activity and investment of surplus funds.
  16. Review UK entities' P11D forms and ensure timely submissions.
  17. Maintain relationships with external counterparties.
  18. Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Skills and Competencies:
  1. Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  2. Preferably from an insurance or broking background.
  3. Experience in both practice and industry.
  4. Proven senior management interaction skills.
  5. Ability to use initiative and handle multiple challenges.
  6. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail.
  8. Adaptable and resilient under pressure.
  9. Familiarity with the CASS (Client Money) rulebook, especially chapter 5 (highly desirable).
