Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Maintenance and review of fixed assets’ registers
- Maintenance of nominal ledger and all supporting spreadsheets/workings
- Updating FX rates and Bank reconciliation on Cash Manager
- Reviewing Bought Ledger and Cashbook reports
- Production of client money reconciliations
- Production of monthly management accounts
- Production of the Bii (monthly Income Report)
- Assistance in the calculation of corporate tax
- Production of VAT return
- Preparation of regulatory returns for the Group’s subsidiary companies (e.g., FCA’s RMAR, Resilience report)
- Assistance in devising, implementing, and reviewing the Group’s internal controls with respect to financial matters
- Assistance in preparing the Group’s year-end financial statements and interim profit verification, including technical review and challenge of accounting consolidation
- Preparation of the Group’s annual budget
- Production of annual 1099 forms for the US entity regarding suppliers payments
- Calculation and proposal of the Group’s FX trading activity and investment of surplus funds
- Reviewing UK entities P11D’s and ensuring timely payment and submission of forms
- Maintaining relationships with external counterparties (banks, consultants, etc.)
- Ad hoc duties as required
Skills and competencies:
- Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, 2 years post qualification
- Ideally from an insurance/broking background
- Experience in both practice and industry
- Proven senior management interaction
- Ability to use initiative to handle multiple challenges
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize
- Determination to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and high-quality work
- Adaptability and resilience under pressure
- Familiarity with the CASS (Client Money) rulebook, especially chapter 5
