Job description

Job Title: Senior Finance Accountant

Location: London

Department / Team: Finance

Reports To: Assistant Director, F&TP

Contacts Internally: All Staff (Globally), Auditors

Contacts Externally: Third Party Providers

Principal duties and responsibilities

1. Maintenance and review of fixed assets’ registers
2. Maintenance of nominal ledger and all supporting spreadsheets/workings
3. Updating FX rates and Bank reconciliation on Cash Manager
4. Reviewing Bought Ledger and Cashbook reports
5. Production of client money reconciliations
6. Production of monthly management accounts
7. Production of the Bii (monthly Income Report)
8. Assistance in the calculation of corporate tax
9. Production of VAT return
10. Production of regulatory returns for the Group’s subsidiary companies (e.g., FCA’s RMAR, Resilience report)
11. Assistance in devising, implementing, and reviewing the Group’s internal controls concerning financial matters
12. Assistance in preparing the Group’s year-end financial statements and interim profit verification, including technical review and challenge of accounting consolidation
13. Preparation of the Group’s annual budget
14. Production of annual 1099 forms for the US entity regarding supplier payments
15. Calculation and proposal of FX trading activity and investment of surplus funds
16. Reviewing UK entities P11D’s and ensuring timely payment and submission of forms
17. Maintaining relationships with external counterparties (banks, consultants, etc.)
18. Ad hoc duties as required

Skills and competencies

1. Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, 2 years post qualification
2. Ideally from an insurance/broking background
3. Experience in both practice and industry
4. Proven senior management interaction
5. Ability to use initiative to handle multiple challenges
6. Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize
7. Determination to meet tight deadlines
8. Attention to detail and focus on high-quality work
