We are looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer (Automation) whose mission is to be customer focused, able to adapt to different situations with good problem solving skills around automated installations. Must be able to lead the immediate team, work with other teams, have good communication skills and be willing to travel around the UK and Europe.

This position ensures our clients' systems run efficiently, minimising downtime, optimising performance, and providing essential support for complex automation processes. The Senior Field Services Engineer will play a key role in helping customers achieve greater operational efficiency through our cutting-edge technology and workflows.

In this role you will be responsible for?

  • Monitoring and supporting the Service Desk, responding to customer tickets
  • Ensuring all tickets are dealt with and close correctly
  • Responsible for the field service team documentation, ensuring all relevant documentation is up to date, accurate and punctual
  • Supporting automated platforms at customer sites
  • Supporting automated platforms at Automata HQ and our build facility
  • Customer and external engineer training
  • Assisting Deployment team with installation duties

What does it take?

  • Proven experience working in a similar role
  • Experience working with robotics or laboratory hardware, control panels and electrical circuits.
  • Attention to detail in your work.

Nice to haves:

  • General service desk and Jira experience would be useful, although not essential.
  • Experience of working within a laboratory environment.
