Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Keep the running business upright by supporting with appr. Field Quality Arguments
  • Act Technical Sales orientated to drive AD&M Business acc. BU Strategy / EETC.
  • Explain NOE technical to customers when requested.
  • Keep very close relationship and build technical network to OEM, Sub Tiers, Distribution.
  • Identify technical opportunities (NPIs) @ customer premises and support to establish the business case for development project
  • SFDC Pipeline Increase (NPI Eng., PAC) and feed with techn. Information
  • Manage Projects along to complete conversion by interfacing with Engineering, Product Management, and other needed TE functions.
  • Product Introduction / Presentation in front of customer for AD&M products like PCB Board Connectors, High Speed & High-Power, VITA products, Connectors, EPDs, Backshell.
  • Deep dive into technical, design discussions on Eng. Level.
  • Explain TE products by using right Apps with 3D Programs, VISO etc.
  • Be able to communicate complex subjects to AsA Development Team by working for customer specific solutions to prepare an internal “yes / no” (PAC) for new market.
  • Technical Support for Customers, RSM, KAM, AM, and Sub Tiers according to EETC.
  • Cross Products from competitions to TE nomenclature inc. EN, MIL standards (job shared with Inside Sales + Customer Service).
  • Attend and organize Workshops and Exhibitions, Fairs.
What your background should look like:
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Electronics, Mechanics or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of Experience dealing technically with Defense customers.
  • Techn. Experience In Connectivity products e.g. EPS, Connector, Cable, PCBs
  • Technical understanding to read electrical circuit / block diagrams.
  • Understand system architecture, circuit diagrams.
  • Work from home office & at customer field.
  • Knowledge of business practice

  • Willing to travel – within North 40%; EMEA 10%; Office 50% (+ Video calls) acc. new EETC
