A healthcare organization in Tees Valley is seeking a Clinical Fellow for a 6-month appointment involved in cardiothoracic surgery. The role includes participating in various surgical management activities and contributing to academic programs. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to patient care and inclusivity. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants in a dynamic environment.
The appointment will be a Trust Appointment designated as Clinical Fellow for a period of 6 months and subject to a successful appraisal will be renewable for a further 6 months. The successful candidate will participate closely in all activities within the Directorate of Cardiothoracic Surgery and be directly accountable to the consultant staff.
The successful candidate will participate in the same rota as the eight other higher surgical trainees (national and non-national) and will have similar training opportunities. The unit undertakes over 1100 cardiac operations and more than 700 thoracic operations per year, specialising in minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures.
It is the policy of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust and require DBS clearance for the post offered are required to pay the cost of their DBS. The payment method is via salary deduction from the first month’s pay.
