EDGE OF CARE SERVICE

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new for children and families in Stockton. We are inviting applicants with a range of skills to work creatively with families, especially those who are hard to reach. We value honest, transparent, and trust-based relationships, which are essential in making a difference in children’s lives.

We believe children are best cared for by their families and communities. Sometimes families need support to stay together, and we are investing in a dedicated service to support families on the edge of care, preventing breakdowns and keeping children within their families and communities.

The team will provide rapid, intensive interventions (including evenings and weekends) to children and families to help them remain in their homes safely. The goal is to support families in crisis, identify creative solutions, and enable sustainable change.

As a Senior Family Worker, you will work with children, families, and professionals to overcome barriers threatening family stability. Strong relationship-building, empathy, understanding, and the ability to challenge behaviors are essential. You will be supported to develop these skills and make a positive impact.

We offer an excellent total reward package, including:

  • A competitive salary of up to £31,364 (plus pending pay award)
  • 27 days annual leave, rising to 32 with 5 years of service (plus bank holidays). Additional leave options available.
  • Generous Pension Scheme through LGPS, with options to pay extra.
  • Other benefits including learning & development, a car lease scheme, retail discounts, employee assistance programs, and physiotherapy services.

For more details, refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification. We look forward to your application.
