One YMCA is seeking a Senior Family Support Practitioner to enhance family support services for children under five. In this full-time role, you will manage a team, support vulnerable families, and ensure high-quality service delivery while maintaining operational standards.

Hertfordshire’s Family Centre Service is made up of the Public Health Nursing Service (Health Visitors and School Nurses) and the Family Support Service. Our purpose is to support children and families to have the best start in life, develop well and thrive.
We provide families with children aged up to 5 years with a wide range of services, information and support on key areas relating to family life.
As a Senior Family Support Practitioner, you will provide support to the Family Support Lead and Locality Manager to ensure an integrated approach to supporting families, with a particular focus on the more vulnerable.
The Role
• Providing day to day line management of the FS team including supervision meetings, capacity planning, management of resources, monitoring of sickness absence and holiday requests.
• Ensuring an integrated approach to supporting families, with a particular focus on the more vulnerable.
• Information sharing with key partners and upholding multi-agency working.
• Overseeing effective use of all assessment and evaluation tools to enhance the service offer provided to families, ensuring the family’s needs remain central to all plans.
• Identifying and planning activities to encourage the engagement of parents and children.
• Holding a small caseload of the most complex families.
• Working towards and achieving the agreed internal and external Key Performance Indicators and objectives to ensure a high level of service is provided at all times.
Requirements
• Level 4 or above in a recognised professional qualification in health, education, childcare, social care or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a family support capacity, including developing and delivering a range of support to children and families.
• Experience of supervising, case management, and developing staff.
• Demonstrable experience of sound Safeguarding practices, procedures and legislation; including Early Help.
• Experience of multi-agency working.
• You will require an enhanced DBS check. Car driver, with own car essential.
