A well-established manufacturing company based in Clydebank is seeking a Senior Factory Operator. This role involves coordinating production activities, assisting in achieving daily outputs, and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards. Previous factory experience is required, and full training will be provided. The position offers a salary of £25,736 per annum with a 10% annual profit-related bonus.
Allstaff Manufacturing Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Senior Factory Operator for well established manufacturing company based in Clydebank. This is a great opportunity for someone with existing production experience who is looking to develop in this area.
The hours are 12‑hour shifts over three days — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (7am – 7pm) with one Saturday per month (7am – 7pm).
The Senior Factory Operator is a key member of the Production Team, responsible for working with the Factory Manager to make sure work is carried out smoothly and within agreed timescales, as set out in production plans and schedules. This position is a hands-on role, and it is expected that production duties will be carried out in conjunction with co‑ordinating responsibilities.
A proactive approach is necessary in all aspects of the role, where contribution to continuous improvement is encouraged. The Senior Factory Operator will be First Aid trained and have responsibility for site open/lock up procedure when required.
Key Responsibilities; Undertaken in conjunction with Factory Manager:
Ensure parts and components are available to complete the daily production schedule.
Using computer system and physical schedule, follow & mark up production status of orders.
Assist with achieving daily production output.
Ensure system transactions and controls are adhered to in Production areas.
Liaise with Factory Manager & Production Engineer as to staffing requirement within dept.
Attend daily production meetings with Factory Manager to discuss work and issues at hand ensuring flexibility & awareness across departments.
Liaise with Planners, Co‑ordinators & Factory Manager on status of orders and urgent parts (adding unscheduled orders to production schedule, changes to orders and moving status of orders etc.).
Ensuring housekeeping is to company standards.
Liaise with Production, Warehouse & Factory Manager with regards to customer priority set out at production meeting.
Ensure the recording and feedback of production down time – reporting errors relating to component shortages, failures, or production delays to Factory Manager.
Monitor and ensure Health & Safety standards are adhered to within Production areas e.g., PPE etc., and report issues to Factory Manager.
Monitor and ensure Quality standards are followed, correct manuals and instructions are available and adhered to.
Carry out all the above in line with company Policies and Procedures including Health and Safety, Quality and HR.
Experience Required:
Previous experience working in a factory production setting.
Keen to develop skills and knowledge.
Full training will be provided.
Salary: £25,736p.a.
