UK Atomic Energy Authority in Abingdon is hiring a Senior Facilities Technician in the Waste Services Group to maintain safe, reliable facilities that support fusion energy research.

You will apply engineering expertise to maintenance, lead risk assessments and method statements, and oversee contractor work to meet safety and technical standards.

This onsite role requires five days a week on site, with flexible working arrangements where possible; a competitive benefits package is included.

Qualifikationen

• HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Experience in a radioactive environment and contamination knowledge.
• Experience preparing safe systems of work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and CMMS.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Aufgaben

• Maintain safe, efficient operation of Waste Services facilities, plant and equipment.
• Diagnose issues, monitor performance and support maintenance activities.
• Coordinate contractors and oversee delivery to meet safety and technical specifications.
• Plan maintenance activities and maintain accurate records; lead review meetings.
• Support projects and introduction of new equipment; provide technical direction.
• Contribute to design, installation and commissioning of waste processing equipment and systems.
• Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements and reports.
• Provide technical advice and liaise with internal and external contacts.
• Allocate tasks and direct contracted operatives and apprentices.
• Support facility planning and emergency arrangements.
