The Opportunity

The Facilities Management team is made up of Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineers, who have a strong appreciation of both the technical and the consultancy aspects of the job working in a variety of sectors. We are looking for someone who has this blended technical knowledge to join our team in Bristol to undertake the process of providing specialist advice on all aspects of the aftercare of buildings including Strategic and Financial Planning, Technical Services and Operational Support. From that, you will deliver technical excellence and high-performance sustainable solutions.

The role will see you:

  • Undertaking a range of surveys from condition, life cycle and performance assessment of buildings
  • Working to support the wider Arup in decarbonisation, net zero and sustainability for existing buildings
  • Developing maintenance contracts, writing and tender specification and driving the FM market to digital and data driven solutions
  • Developing whole life carbon assessments, asset protection and plant replacement strategies for MEP services and facade components
  • Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, while being able to deliver high-quality results
  • Appreciating the client’s key objectives and developing solutions to meet these, including implementing sustainable solutions on projects
  • Inputting and actioning deliverables such as technical solutions, reports, drawings, scopes of work and specifications

Is this role right for you?

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Is Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
  • Will be chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status with an industry institution such as CIBSE
  • Has a strong understanding ofbuilding services design,maintenance standards, andFM best practices.
  • Has experience in conductingcondition surveys,life cycle assessments, andperformance evaluationsof building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and evaluating asset conditionand planning for replacementor upgrades.
  • Can provide specialist advice on all aspects of the aftercare of buildings including Strategic and Financial Planning, Technical Services and Operational Support
