Job summary

Harmony Fire Ltd. in London seeks a Principal Facade Engineer to lead external wall assessments and FRAEW work for major housing projects.

You will act as the technical authority on facade construction within our multidisciplinary team, guiding remediation strategies and client advisory services. Applicants should have chartered status, a civil/structural engineering degree, and a strong track record with PAS 9980:2022, Building Safety Act, and cladding systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in facade engineering or external wall assessment with robust FRAEW report delivery.
• Deep knowledge of external wall systems incl. cladding, rainscreen façades, fixings, fire breaks.
• Strong understanding of Building Safety Act and PAS 9980 regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead FRAEW assessments and author FRAEW reports for PAS 9980:2022.
• Act as technical authority on external wall construction within Harmony’s MDT.
• Advise clients on compliance, remediation options and risk management under regulatory frameworks.
• Provide oversight on complex façade remediation projects and design reviews.
• Support pre-construction teams with facade input on tenders and specs.
• Represent Harmony in client and design team meetings; communicate findings clearly.
• Contribute to developing Harmony’s façade engineering methodology and standards.
