Harmony is seeking a Principal Facade Engineer to lead external wall assessments, FRAEW reporting, and remediation advisory work for major housing providers across the UK. Based in London, you will be the technical authority for facade systems within the MDT, mentoring others and shaping methodologies.

You will advise housing associations and local authorities on compliance under the Building Safety Act and PAS 9980, overseeing complex facade remediation projects and supporting pre-construction

Qualifications

• Experience in facade engineering or external wall assessment.
• Proven FRAEW report delivery to PAS 9980:2022.
• Deep knowledge of external wall systems and facade construction.
• Knowledge of Building Safety Act, PAS 9980, and Approved Document B.
• Experience advising housing associations or large building owners on external wall compliance.

Responsabilités

• Lead and author FRAEW assessments in accordance with PAS 9980:2022.
• Act as technical authority on external wall construction within the MDT.
• Advise clients on external wall compliance and remediation options.
• Provide technical oversight on complex facade remediation projects.
• Support pre-construction with facade-related input on tenders and design reviews.
• Present technical findings to clients and advisors in meetings.
• Develop and refine Harmony’s facade engineering methodology and details.
• Collaborate with fire engineers and building surveyors to deliver integrated assessments.
• Stay current with regulatory framework changes to maintain compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior colleagues within the consultancy team.
