Job summary

Ibstock Plc in London/Leicestershire seeks a Senior Facade Engineer to lead technical designs using Ibstock products, meeting regulatory requirements and project schedules. You will manage a team delivering 2nd line support and liaising with customers through planning and execution stages.

The role requires a degree in engineering with 5 years in façade engineering, strong leadership, and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload while delivering commitments.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering construction or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience within façade engineering.
• Experience and ability to manage people and teams.
• Ability to prioritise a sizeable workload whilst delivering on key commitments.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a team to deliver technical designs using Ibstock products for all product lines, meeting specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop a team to provide 2nd line support, handling customer technical enquiries on projects.
• Liaise with customers in planning and execution stages to plan, agree and execute delivery packages with schedules.
• Define and implement standard systems for design and storage of technical information with appropriate access for colleagues.
• Define, implement and maintain CAD details and BIM Objects for all products and systems with access for colleagues and customers.
• Support the team in providing configurators, panelisation and quotation tools for rapid schedules and quotes.
• Ensure the team has suitable skills and development planned as needed.
• Oversee software/hardware management for design and technical team; ensure correct tools are used.
• Recommend upgrades for licences and maintain records of software & hardware.

Senior Facade Engineer

This role can be based in London or Leicestershire.

Specific Responsibilities

• Develop and then manage a team to deliver technical designs using Ibstock products to customers for all product lines, meeting required specifications and regulatory requirements
• Manage and develop a team to provide 2nd line support, handling customer technical enquiries on projects.
• Manage the team to liaise and build relationships with customers in planning and execution stages of projects to plan, agree and execute delivery packages with schedules.
• Define, agree and implement standard systems for design and storage of technical information with appropriate levels of access for colleagues
• Define, agree, implement and maintain sets of standard CAD details and BIM Objects for all products and systems, ensuring appropriate access for colleagues and customers.
• Support the team in providing configurators, panelisation and quotation tools to enable rapid and accurate project schedules and quotes.
• Ensure the Team are have the suitable skills, knowledge, experience and behaviour to complete their work in line with BSA, maintain a log of this and where required ensure appropriate development is planned and carried out.
• Software and hardware management for design and technical team- ensuring that the correct hardware and software are used to complete the teams objectives
• Recommend upgrades for licences. Maintain record of software & hardware against personnel

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree qualified in an engineering construction discipline or appropriate equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience within façade engineering.
• Experience and ability to manage people and teams
• Ability to prioritise a sizeable workload whilst delivering on key commitments
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
