Overview

Singh & Jones are working with a well established facade engineering consultancy, who have a global appeal and are synonymous in the world of Facade Construction. Having seen tenders grow substantially and huge investment, the client is keen to strengthen their facade engineering team by recruiting an experienced Senior Facade Engineer who can be part of the middle management team.

The position of a Senior Facade Engineer will report directly to the Director of Facades, and the duties will include:

Responsibilities

• Analyse configurations of the basic components of aluminium curtain wall, unitised and cladding systems
• Produce finite element analysis and U Values
• Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains on various loads
• Use expertise to advise on structural designs and variations
• Liaise with other designers, including architects and main contractors
• Make drawings, specifications and computer models using AutoCAD and Revit
• Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound
• Apply expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures
• Lead and mentor junior staff

Qualifications

The Senior Facade Engineer candidate will come from a similar background/role. Ideally the client requires a self-starter, with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience. Must have a strong academic background, with a degree in BSc/MSc in Structural or Civil Engineering/Architectural Technologist, and someone who has or is looking to progress on to completing their MSc in Facade Engineering or has already obtained ASFE (Member Society of Facade Engineering). The role has progression and a designation to be the Facade Director within the consultancy, and can be based from home full time.
