Senior Executive Support Officer (Team Leader)

Starting salary between £34,581 and £45,219 per annum. Full time 37 hours per week – Monday - Friday. Based at King’s Court Council Office

If you are a highly organised, trustworthy, and proactive professional with the ability to effectively lead teams alongside delivering high quality executive support we have a rare opportunity for you to join our team. We are looking for a Senior Executive Support Officer to head up our Executive Support Team. This is a key leadership role, providing direct support to the Chief Executive, Leader, Deputy Leader, and wider support to the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT), while ensuring consistent and professional service across the team.

Responsibilities

As Team Leader, we need you to oversee the coordination of correspondence, diary management, meeting preparation, and stakeholder engagement, while driving service improvements and operational excellence. You will represent the support function at senior-level meetings, manage politically sensitive matters with discretion, and ensure the team delivers responsive, resilient support aligned with the Council’s priorities.

Requirements

You will have strong leadership and communication skills, a sound understanding of local government, and the ability to manage complex administrative functions. You will be confident in working with senior stakeholders, including elected members, MPs, senior officers, and external partners, and have a proactive, solutions-focused approach to team management and service delivery with an understanding of the challenges facing local government.
