Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and high performing Senior Executive Assistant for the Joint Chair and Vice Chairs of NBT and UHBW. This is a new and exciting opportunity for someone with proven Executive/Board level Executive Assistant experience. The postholder will work across both organisations.

Main duties of the job

As the Senior Executive Assistant supporting the Joint Chair and Vice Chairs you will:

  1. Provide high level, professional EA support
  2. Act as an interface between the Joint Chair and Vice Chairs and staff at all levels
  3. With guidance from senior colleagues, develop a thorough understanding of the Joint Chair's and Vice Chairs' priorities and ways of working
  4. Work with senior colleagues to help ensure that the Joint Chair's and Vice Chairs' priorities are effectively communicated and progressed
Person specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience
  • Post graduate qualification or further training in a business administration role
  • IT skills or qualification to ECDL/RSA standard or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
  • Substantial secretarial and personal assistant experience at a senior level
  • A strong understanding of the local healthcare sector and wider political context within BNSSG
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Methodical and reliable, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Capacity to adopt changes to working practices quickly
  • Exhibit diplomacy, and listening skills with ability to interact with people of all levels and backgrounds
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent and professional communications both face-to-face, over the phone and by email
  • Ability to manage an unpredictable workload where there are frequent interruptions and distractions
