Mercor is partnering with a cutting-edge AI research initiative to generate high-quality Excel-based training data for financial modeling. We’re seeking experienced finance specialists with deep Excel expertise to help synthesize realistic, structurally complex spreadsheets across key financial domains.

This short-term, project-based engagement offers a unique opportunity to contribute domain knowledge to frontier model development, with remote, asynchronous work and roughly 10 hours per week,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in management consulting or strategy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, building analytical models and dashboards.
• Familiarity with consulting frameworks (cost modeling, TAM analysis).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to parse complex interrelated formulas.
• Experience creating or working with Excel models in client-facing or internal projects.

Responsibilities

• Write prompts describing complex consulting workflows for synthetic Excel generation.
• Review and validate AI-generated spreadsheets for accuracy and formulas.
• Refine models for clean layout, interdependencies, and formatting.
• Provide examples like market sizing models, cost-benefit analyses, pricing tools.
• Deliver formula-rich, professional Excel files with input-calculation separation.
• Collaborate using State-of-the-Art AI Agent to create advanced Excel files.
