Job summary

Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet experts to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will perform real data analysis workflows on your Mac, helping benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Ideal candidates have 2-3 years of experience or are enrolled in a quantitative Masters program, with advanced Excel/Sheets skills and familiarity with SQL or Python and BI tools. Immediate start and part-time commitment apply.

Qualifications

• Mac required: own a MacBook/Mac with Apple Silicon or Intel, macOS 15+.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers and/or Google Sheets.
• Experience with SQL, Python or BI tools (Tableau/Power BI) is a plus.
• Pursuing or recently completed Masters, or 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor's.
• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week.
• Complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data.
• Provide clearly structured responsibilities without high pressure of internships or full-time consulting.
• Immediate start preferred.

Mercor is looking for data analysts and spreadsheet specialists with 2-3 years of experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students in a quantitative field, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real data analysis workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial or operational models)

• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
