Job summary

The University of Stirling is seeking a Deputy Head of Events to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the University events portfolio. Working with the Head of Events, you will guide major events throughout the year and help shape the events team’s strategy and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of major University events under the Head of Events, including planning, logistics, risk assessment, delivery and evaluation
• Coordinate the student-facing BeConnected programme to ensure a structured, engaging community programme
• Coordinate short-term working groups to support event development and delivery
• Ensure all event programmes are inclusive, accessible and representative of the University’s diverse student population
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and university policies, and manage event budgets and expenditure
• Seek sponsorships, partnerships or grants to support event funding where applicable
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the University (Students’ Union, Accommodation, Student Services, Sport, Faculties)
• Support the Head of Events as a central coordination point for student engagement and programme delivery
• Provide guidance to colleagues delivering events and supervise or mentor junior team members
• Deputise for the Head of Events on operational matters as required
• Identify opportunities for innovation and best practice to improve the University events programme
