Job summary

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is seeking a Principal, Evaluation Manager to lead and deliver thematic and transaction-focused evaluations. You will design evaluation studies, oversee teams, and contribute to knowledge management and learning across IEvD.

You will apply advanced analytical methods, manage complex datasets, and present findings to senior audiences. A hybrid work model and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• At least 10 years of development evaluation experience.
• Experience with evaluation methods and tools; GPS data, AI, or big data analytics is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills and data management, including cleaning and preparing data.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools desirable.
• Experience with MDBs or IFIs is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead preparation of corporate and thematic evaluations using independent research and analysis.
• Serve as lead evaluator for operation evaluations, synthesis papers, cluster analyses, and case studies.
• Provide high-quality analytical contributions and quality assurance on studies.
• Develop background papers for large thematic evaluations.
• Present findings clearly in English and tailor to audiences.
• Mentor and guide Analysts and Officers on projects and tasks.
• Identify and manage consultants if appropriate.
• Deliver trainings and briefings by IEvD team members.
• Promote dissemination of evaluation findings and capacity development.
