About your role:

As a Senior Gas Market Analyst, you will be responsible for fundamental analysis of European gas markets in support of proprietary trading activity. You will provide market views and calls based on bespoke fundamental modelling, forecasting, and monitoring of main factors and news flows.

You will work collaboratively with other Gas Analysts and relevant desks to expand and improve the desk analytics platform.

This role is based in our London office near Marble Arch.

Accountabilities include:

1. Providing market insights for Traders and senior stakeholders based on interpretation of market fundamentals.
2. Collaborating with Front Office Developers to build and develop models and tools supporting gas analysis, visualization, and automation.
3. Forecasting market dynamics of gas and related commodities (e.g., oil, power).
4. Conducting technical analysis of the gas markets.
5. Recommending market calls and trading strategies for trading or hedging purposes.

Qualifications and skills:

1. Strong numerical qualification and technical credentials.
2. Experience in commodity trading or market analysis.
3. Extensive knowledge of European and global gas markets.
4. Proficiency in modelling tools like Monte Carlo simulations.
5. High commercial acumen.
6. Understanding of trading techniques such as hedging and options.
7. Proficiency in tool building, market forecasting, and economic modelling on programming platforms.
8. Strong knowledge of Python for modelling and analysis.
