Senior Estimator – Overhead Line | Hybrid (Annesley Office + WFH)

Our client is a specialist contractor at the heart of the UK’s energy transmission sector, delivering large-scale overhead line infrastructure from 132kV up to 400kV. As their project pipeline continues to expand, they’re looking to recruit a skilled Estimator or Senior Estimator to support tender activity on new build and refurbishment schemes across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced infrastructure estimator to join a dynamic, growing pre-construction team with real autonomy, hybrid flexibility, and long-term career growth potential.

This role is based in East Midlands.

The Role:

As Estimator (or Senior Estimator, depending on experience), you’ll work as part of a collaborative pre-contracts team, supporting pricing and bid strategy on high-voltage overhead line (OHL) projects. You’ll liaise closely with Bid Managers, Project Development Managers and Construction Leads—bringing clarity, commercial insight and precision to every tender submission.

Key responsibilities include:

* Producing tender pricing using internal cost models and supply chain quotations

* Working with procurement and commercial to prepare RFQs and benchmark costs

* Supporting bid kick-off meetings and planning the pricing programme

* Preparing client pricing documents and attending post-submission presentations

* Analysing risks, identifying productivity gaps, and testing rates and assumptions

* Leading pricing handovers and contributing to internal project risk reviews

* Mentoring junior estimators and driving continuous improvement in the estimating function

* Working with engineering teams to ensure tender solutions are robust and achievable

This is a hybrid role with 2–3 days/week in the Annesley office and the remainder from home.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in infrastructure estimating (essential)

* Experience with overhead lines or substations (desirable but not essential)

* Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and scope documents

* Solid commercial acumen and a basic understanding of contract terminology

* Ability to work to strict tender deadlines and manage multiple priorities

* Comfortable collaborating across technical, commercial and procurement teams

* Full UK driving licence
