Job summary

SES Engineering Services is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our Northern team, focusing on high-profile, technically complex projects across multiple sectors in the UK. The role centres on producing competitive estimates, reviewing drawings, and guiding cost risk analysis.

You will collaborate with surveyors and project teams, delivering accurate tenders and value engineering options while enjoying a flexible working arrangement and extensive benefits on offer.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, and scopes.
• Producing material take‑offs and labour assessments.
• Requesting and analysing supplier and subcontract quotes.
• Preparing detailed prime cost estimates and tender clarifications.
• Advising on cost risks, alternatives, and value‑engineering options.
• Supporting settlement meeting as well as handover to project delivery teams post‑award.
• Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlement
• Work with surveyors in preparation of quantified schedule of rates and bill of quantities
• Prepare tender summaries and attend start-up pre-price and price meetings
• Assist in preparation for settlement meeting enquiring whether risk register, prelims and labour rates have been done.

About The Role

Our Senior Estimators are a valuable part of our business, where they effectively utilise skills, experience and knowledge within a team environment to produce tenders, establish opportunities and prepare competitive estimates.

As our Senior Estimator you will:

• Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, and scopes.
