Job summary

Midlands Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the tendering process for high-value construction projects. You will price from first principles and coordinate with Bid/Planning teams to deliver competitive submissions.

The role offers flexible/hybrid working arrangements, with exposure to major schemes valued at 50 million and above across the Midlands and beyond. An established pre-construction team supports delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or ready to step up.
• Background with Tier 1 or large regional main contractors.
• Experience pricing major construction projects (50m+).
• Understanding of modern construction methods and procurement routes.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet tender deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process on major tenders.
• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates from first principles.
• Review drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Manage supply chain inquiries and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities for value engineering.
• Produce detailed pricing documents and tender reports.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, design and operations teams.
• Support bid presentations and client negotiations.
• Help develop winning tender strategies on high-value projects.
