Senior/Managing Estimator Multi Utilities – Location: Kent (Office-based with Hybrid Flexibility)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a leader in delivering multi-utility solutions across the UK, supporting clients in power, water, gas, and telecoms. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior/Managing Estimator to play a pivotal role in pricing and securing complex utility projects.

This isn t a numbers-only role. We are looking for someone who can bring real commercial acumen, particularly around principal contracts a professional who can evaluate risk, challenge assumptions, and provide insight that drives profitability and protects the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders for multi-utility projects.
  • Interpret principal contracts, ensuring commercial risks are identified, mitigated, and clearly communicated.
  • Work closely with operational, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure estimates are robust and realistic.
  • Negotiate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to deliver commercially viable outcomes.
  • Contribute to business strategy by identifying opportunities for improvement in pricing, processes, and delivery.
What We re Looking For
  • Strong background in utilities estimating (power, water, gas, telecoms, or multi-utilities).
  • Proven ability to interpret and work with principal contracts not just numbers.
  • Experience in a Senior Estimator or Managing Estimator role, ideally within a contractor or utility provider.
  • Commercially sharp, able to balance risk, margin, and client needs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
